Details of modified 2013 Subaru BRZ
– Will the wheels 18x8.5 48 offset with P 225/40 R18 tires fit on a 2013 Subaru BRZ?
– Yes, they will fit. As you can see from the pics this 2013 Subaru BRZ is running Rota D-Force 18x8.5 with 6.64” backspacing and Michelin Pilot Sport ZP P 225/40 R18 tires.
All other things being equal, widening the rear tire by 40mm while only adding 10mm to the front will increase understeer. HOWEVER, there's the bonus that I can chuck the spare wheel and tire -- all 25 pounds of it -- to the curb, and that weight comes off the back of the car. I figure that will help some to bring back the rear-end friskiness. If that still doesn't do the trick, I'll work some with aftermarket sway bars to restore things.
The stock wheel/tire was 41.4 pounds. My new front 18x8.5" Rota D with attached 225/40R18 is 44.6.

Definitions
Wheel Offset
Refers to how your car’s or truck’s wheels and tires are mounted and sit in the wheel wells.
– Zero wheel offset is when the hub mounting surface is in line with the centerline of the wheel.
– Positive wheel offset is when the hub mounting surface is in front (more toward the street side) of the centerline of the wheel. Most wheels on front-wheel drive cars and newer rear-drive vehicles have positive offset.
– Negative offset is when the hub mounting surface is behind the wheel centerline. “Deep dish” wheels are typically a negative offset.
