Details of modified 2009 Subaru Forester
– Will the wheels 18x8.0 40 offset with P 235/50 R18 tires fit on a 2009 Subaru Forester?
– Yes, they will fit. As you can see from the pics this 2009 Subaru Forester is running Rage R20 18x8.0 with 6.07” backspacing and Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 P 235/50 R18 tires.
Cut to last week where I swapped them out with the same tire in a 235/50/18. This size is slightly smaller in diameter than stock but night and day different from the 55 profile of the previous tire. The handling is so much more firm and corners are crisp, driving is fun again! I had a chance to go through some heavy downpours and they cut right through standing water and stopping distance was excellent. I wondered if I'd be taking a hit in comfort with a shorter sidewall but they're just as nice as the larger size.

Wheel Offset
Refers to how your car’s or truck’s wheels and tires are mounted and sit in the wheel wells.
– Zero wheel offset is when the hub mounting surface is in line with the centerline of the wheel.
– Positive wheel offset is when the hub mounting surface is in front (more toward the street side) of the centerline of the wheel. Most wheels on front-wheel drive cars and newer rear-drive vehicles have positive offset.
– Negative offset is when the hub mounting surface is behind the wheel centerline. “Deep dish” wheels are typically a negative offset.
